Outrageous Excess Still Exists in Vegas |

While I admit I am happy to see Vegas move away from the ridiculous excess of the not so distant past, the idea apparently isn't completely dead. Courtesy of the Las Vegas Advisor, in what has to be the most over-the-top dessert Las Vegas has ever seen, Serendipity 3 at Caesars Palace offers the "Golden Opulence Sundae." It combined 5 scoops of Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream with various kinds of exotic chocolates, fruits and edible 23K Gold Leaf served in a crystal goblet with an 18K Gold spoon. All for just a mere $1000! No word on if you can keep the spoon... I detested the idea of charging $300 for a crappy room because a convention was in town or banging everyday schmoes $500 for the privilege of drinking Grey Goose in a booth at a club. Fortunately, those things are quickly becoming relics of the past as Vegas returns to it's senses. But it's also nice to see that completely outrageous displays of excess are still available in the City of Excess if YOU want to pay for them while the rest of us enjoy our $39 rooms! |

Comment: I have always despised excess of luxury and this is one of those wastes of money, which could be put to a more charitable use! Having said that, the reason I go to Las Vegas is because I love to gamble; which makes me a hypocrite and no better than any one else!I'm just saying! LOL But, as you said, Rob, Vegas IS Sin City and full of excess. |

Comment: Rhonda, you are 100% correct on the waste of money but who am I to tell anyone what they can do with their cash. I actually love things like this because it is so Vegas and if you can drop a thou on it, it must be good to be you! Where I do have a problem is when EVERYONE, high roller and schmoe alike, gets bent over like in clubs and during convention times. Fortunately, there is far less of that these days. Now, we just need to get rid of the joke that is the $13 drink at a casino bar. Do you hear me Wynn and City Center????? |
